Mr. Jerry L Cunningham is an American who has been in Nigeria for over 26 years doing agricultural development. He has over fifty (50) years of experience in agriculture and environmental practices. He is the Managing Director of AWAA, an American-based agricultural development company, responsible for all company activities.He has extensive experience in the design, development, installation, and implementation of major projects in agriculture, irrigation, and farm development. As Managing Director of AWAA, he oversees company operations and manages contracts with clients.
Growing up on a ranch in Nebraska, USA, he is well versed in livestock management and production. He once had the largest herd of Gelbvieh cattle in the USA and has been involved in breeding genetics with Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer for over 50 years.
To enhance irrigation, Mr. Cunningham has been instrumental in the development of Center Pivot irrigation worldwide. Currently, AWAA is the largest Center Pivot Development Company in West Africa.
Since 1999, Mr. Cunningham has worked extensively across Nigeria, collaborating with locals to develop agriculture, and has gained a vast wealth of knowledge about Nigerian agricultural culture and development.
His assignments have included the installation of over 1,000 irrigation systems across more than eight countries, as well as multiple livestock centers.
